I decided to make this a Not So Wordless Wednesday to chat about what I really love about this image. Could it be the fog, the composition, the “muted colour processing” or perhaps the reflection on the water? Has to be the ducks right? Better yet, some exotic pond deep in the woods somewhere?
Nope…it’s the simple fact that this is an image of a slough (a run off/overflow from a river) that cuts through our downtown. I can’t tell you how many people drive past this and don’t even give it a second look! There’s the main street right behind me and two buildings on either side just out of view. I’ve taken images at this location in the past and when I get asked where it is…they can’t believe it!
That’s what I love about this image, a reminder to slow down and look around at all the beauty that surrounds us! You never know, perhaps there’s a slough just 5-10 minutes walking distance away from your work (as this one is for me)! 😀
